Meet The Instructors

Mrs. Jacqualine Karpinsky, III Dan

Mrs. Karpinsky began her journey with TaeKwon Do in 1994.  She was awarded her First Dan Blackbelt in 1998 through Eastern Sun Martial Arts in Sheboygan, WI and received her Second Dan Blackbelt in March of 2001. In July of 2001 she became Head Instructor of the Academy of Martial Arts Sheboygan. While in this position she was named AAMA Educator of the Year for 2003. In July of 2005 Mrs Karpinsky received her 3rd Dan Black Belt.  During her years at AAMA she has participated in many seminars including the Millenium USA TaeKwon Do Course with General Choi Hung Hi in 2000 and the ITF Instructors Course in 2002. Mrs. Karpinsky is a USTF certified referee and has hosted and participated in many tournaments in her almost 15 years of Martial Arts experience.

 

Mr. Marc Mikkelson, III Dan

Mr Mikkelson has been in the Martial Arts for over 18 years.  He received his first Black Belt in TaeKwon-Do in 1992 from Parks Black Belt Acadamy.  He then joined the Sheboygan Academy of Martial Arts In 1997. Mr Mikkelson is a USTF certified referee and has served as a referee / judge in over 20 touraments since 1992.  In addition to his extensive tournament experience, he has also attended numourous Instructor and Sparring seminars since the year 2000.  Mr Mikkelson has an intense desire for learning and passes that on in his teaching.  The AMA congratulates him on his promotion to III Dan on September 13, 2008 here at our school in Sheboygan Falls.

 

 

Mr. "B"  Arlen Brusvold,  Little Dragons Instructor

Mr. B is a big man with an even bigger heart.  His dedication to the Little Dragons program over the past decade is much appreciated.  Mr. Brusvold has studied various types of martial arts and boxing over the years and brings lots of practical "street smarts" to the school.  He is always able to get a smile out of the kids and his positive attitude and decipline are a real asset to the AMA.

 

Mrs. Caren Johnson,  II Dan

Mrs. Johnson started Tae Kwon- Do in 2000, when her husband (fellow II Dan) encouraged her to join.  She was awarded her First Dan Black Belt in January of 2006 from the AMA and her Second Dan in November of 2007.  Mrs. Johnson is also a USTF class "B" certified refree and has served as a refree / judge in a small handfull of tournaments since 2005.  She also attended a seminar conducted by Grand Master Sereff in July of 2005 in Fredonia, Wi.  In addition Mrs. Johnson has also attended step sparring seminars and patterns seminars in 2002-03.
